This insect-like design from 1953 was created as a reaction to heavier, clunkier Italian designs of the time. Serge Mouille wanted to create a practical floor light with delicate lines and a stunning visual presence. True to Serge Mouille's original production philosophy, each piece is made entirely by hand in France using the original forms, molds and techniques created by Mouille nearly 70 years ago. The unique brass joint allows the head to swivel and turn to any position and hold steady. Each piece is stamped and numbered. The Plec family is made of steel which is thought of as a tough, strong, heavy and totally stable material. In its sheet format, steel is both malleable and flexible. A feature that allows us to mold it and give it such peculiar shapes as the folds of the Plec table.
To guarantee stability and consistency of the Plec tables, the designers and engineers have chosen a thickness for the base that allows repetitive folding without losing firmness and stability but still provides some sculptural and visual flexibility.
The heavier the top and the higher the base, the more likely you could experience a slight ‘twisting’ sensation if you move the table or if the floor is uneven. Small levelers are provided for adjustment. This sensation varies depending on the size and height of the table and the finish of the top (steel or marble).
The Plec tables are safe and perfect for using as a coffee table or for placing decorative objects, drinks, etc.

The Le Corbusier group referred to their LC2 and LC3 Collections (1928) as "cushion baskets," which they designed as a modernist response to the traditional club chair. These pieces reverse the standard structures of sofas and chairs by having frames that are externalized. With thick, resilient pillows resting within the steel frames, the idea was to offer all the comfort of a padded surface while applying the elegant minimalism and industrial rationale of the International Style. The resulting aesthetic of the simple tubular structure is remarkably relevant to how we live today, almost 90 years later.

Widely considered one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Le Corbusier (born Charles-douard Jeanneret-Gris) is credited with changing the face of urban architecture, bringing it into the technological age. Connecting architecture with revolution, his legacy demonstrates a strong, if utopian, sense of purpose to meet the needs of a democratic society dominated by the machine."Modern life demands, and is waiting for, a new kind of plan, both for the house and the city," he said in 1923.
Born in Switzerland, Le Corbusier was encouraged by a teacher to take up architecture. He built his first house at the age of 18 for a member of his school"s teaching staff. In 1908, he went to Paris and began to practice with Auguste Perret, an architect known for his pioneering use of concrete and reinforced steel. Moving to Berlin, Le Corbusier worked with Peter Behrens, who taught him about industrial processes and machine design. In 1917, he returned to Paris, where he met post-Cubist Amde Ozenfant and developed Purism, a new concept of painting. In 1920, still in Paris, he adopted the pseudonym Le Corbusier.
Paradoxically, Le Corbusier combined a passion for classical Greek architecture and an attraction to the modern machine. He published his ideas in a book entitled Vers une Architecture, in which he refers to the house as a"machine for living," an industrial product that should include functional furniture or"equipment de l"habitation." In this spirit, Le Corbusier co-designed a system of furniture with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. The tubular steel furniture" including the famous LC4 Chaise Longue and LC2 and LC3 seating collections" projected a new rationalist aesthetic that came to epitomize the International Style.
Corbusier was both credited with and criticized for his reinvention of the modern urban skyline" notably, the buildings he pioneered in Paris" banlieues, which were considered efficient but austere. Though Le Corbusier"s illustrious career came to an abrupt end in 1965 when he drowned while swimming in the Mediterranean Sea off Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in France, his influence is undisputed.

After each use, wash the cutlery in warm water and mild detergent. Avoid using detergents with chlorine or anti-limestone agents.

Handwash When hand washing your CUTIPOL cutlery, avoid using abrasive cloths or scrubs. Be sure to wash off any food remains as soon as possible after use.

Dishwasher If washing your cutlery in a dishwasher, make sure that at the end of cycle the flatware pieces are completely dry. Hand dry them with soft cloth, if still wet. Minimize contact of the flatware with the dishwasher steam. Remove the cutlery from the dishwasher as soon as the cycle has finished and wipe each item with a dry soft cloth, even if the item looks dry.

Knife Blades Take extra care with knife blades. Knife blades are made of 420 steel to give them more cutting power and hardness. This means they are less resistant to oxidation. Make sure they are washed straight after use and well dried before putting them away. They should be kept in a dry place.
These sets are dishwasher safe. In order to maintain the handles for a longer period of time, apply a common use moisturizer lotion.

The iconic three shade system of the PH series of lighting fixtures was created in 1925/1926 by Poul Henningsen for an exhibition in Paris. The designer was determined to produce glare free lighting that was directed where it was needed most while creating soft shadows. The three shade system creates an even distribution of light as each shade reduces the light equally due to their distance from the light source. This is the first lamp to have been created using the scientific model of the logarithmic spiral as a basis for light distribution. There have been approximately one thousand variations of the original lamp with several floor, table, wall, and pendant versions currently available.
The reflective three-shade system of the PH 5 Pendant provides 100% glare-free light, directing the greater part of it downward. By emanating light both downward and laterally, it virtually illuminates itself. A warmer tone of light is created by the inside red cone and the small blue reflector of the classic fixture.
